FlightLine B-25J Mitchell — Assembly Guide

Skill Level: Intermediate | Estimated Time: ~2 hours | Model: 1600mm wingspan PNP version

Preparation

  • Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, tape, hobby knife, CA glue/epoxy
  • Required (not included): 6‑channel radio + 6‑channel receiver, 6S 22.2V 5000–5500mAh LiPo (EC5 connector)
  • Verify contents against the manual’s parts list before starting.

Step‑by‑Step Assembly

1. Install Vertical Stabilizers

  • Route left/right rudder servo cables through slots into the horizontal tail.
  • Mount both vertical tails to the horizontal tail; secure with 4× KA3×10mm screws.

2. Install Horizontal Stabilizer

  • Plug elevator servo cable into ELE port; rudder cable into RUD port on rear‑fuselage PCB.
  • Fasten horizontal stabilizer to rear fuselage with 3× KA3×10mm screws.

3. Join Fuselage Sections

  • Fit conical plastic parts onto the carbon tube.
  • Route ribbon cables from front fuselage into rear‑fuselage PCB.
  • Mate front & rear fuselage; secure with 2× KA3×10mm screws.

4. Install Inner Wing Panels

  • Insert carbon tubes A & B into fuselage.
  • Pull ribbon wires, ESC leads, and servo cables through the wings.
  • Plug into the fuselage control board; secure inner wings with screws.

5. Install Outer Wings (Quick‑Release)

  • No screws needed! Plug in the single ribbon connector, then engage the latch toggle levers to lock.
  • Ensure both sides lock securely and are fully seated.

6. Install Propellers

  • Left engine → standard rotation; Right engine → labeled “Rev” (counter‑rotating).
  • Attach 3‑blade props and spinners securely.

7. Install Accessories

  • Mount dummy bombs, antennas, gun barrels, and scale details.
  • Apply desired decal sheet (3 options included).

8. Radio & Battery Setup

  • Battery: 6S 5000–5500mAh LiPo, secured with Velcro in nose compartment.
  • CG: Balance at recommended location in manual — critical for flight.
  • Radio setup: 6 channels; flaps, retracts, bomb doors on aux channels.
  • Control test: Verify all surfaces move correctly — elevator, rudder, ailerons, flaps, retracts.

Critical Notes

  • Counter‑rotating props: Right = marked “Rev” — failure to match will cause asymmetric thrust.
  • Center of Gravity: Do NOT fly without confirming CG per manual.
  • Retracts & bomb doors: Test sequenced operation before flight.
  • Always power ON transmitter FIRST, then connect battery.
